Visitation Policy

~The health and safety of our dogs and puppies is very important to us, so we take every precaution to protect them, after much trial and error we have implemented the following visitation policy~

There is a very high demand for Old Mission puppies due to our good reputation, dedication to the breed and above and beyond efforts to rear puppies in the most advantageous way possible. We get several inquiries a day and most are requesting to come visit and meet our dogs and puppies. We can understand why someone would want to visit, However we are not a kennel facility and simply can not accommodate the high volume of visit requests and that foot traffic would put our dogs and puppies at risk. Therefore, visits are reserved for approved homes on our waiting list only, when the puppies are the proper age.

Many don't realize there are countless things to consider as a breeder of home raised puppies. The dangers of exposing young puppies to communicable disease is very serious and can be detrimental to a breeding program and the welfare of our dogs. When diseases like Parvo strike, they can kill a whole litter in a matter of hours and can stay in the carpet and soil for years which would be devastating to our breeding program and property for many years to come. Pathogens can easily be picked up anywhere dogs go.... pet stores, carpet, parks, training facilities, kennels, vet offices, rest stops, etc and live on shoes for years and be tracked in. Healthy appearing dogs can be asymptomatic carriers/transmitters of disease.

We can direct you to upcoming dog showsevents and clubs if you're still in the research phase and undecided about the breed. We will also be happy to help you learn all about the breed and answer any questions you may have.

In the meantime, we ask that you 'visit' us either at a dog show (we do not attend shows when any of our dogs are pregnant or have a litter on the ground), online on our website, via email, Instagram and Facebook page rather than in person until the appropriate time. We photograph our puppies regularly,  and post the photos and videos on our social media pages weekly. You will have plenty of opportunity to see how and where current and past litters are raised, socialized, growing, milestones, personalities and development as a testament to how our puppies are reared.

Approved applicants will have a opportunity to come meet the litter around 6 weeks old, narrow down their selections in waiting list order and give a hand in socialization before puppies are due to go home.

Also we do not allow any other dogs or animals on the premises. PLEASE leave your other animals at home, as they will not be allowed onto our property for a visit. Healthy and recently vaccinated dogs can still track in, shed and transmit disease to young puppies and the puppy's mother will be very upset and protective with strange dogs visiting while she has a litter.

You can also check us out with the GDCA, Breeder Rescue certification and AKC. We are also a AKC breeder of Merit

This is our policy for visiting the litter....

  • We allow visitors ONLY when the puppies are approximately 6 weeks old and only allow visitors that have a approved application.

  • Make an appointment for your visit. We set aside a block of time for your visit and may have other visitors scheduled before and after your visit.

  • I ask that visitors do not visit us after previously visiting with another breeder, dog park, vet, pet store etc. on the same day.

  • No other dogs or animals are permitted to visit
